One of our guests during the 2013 season put together this video of his fishing success at our Big River Lakes location and one of the hot spots the guides take clients for some nonstop action. During his day of fishing he landed 20 coho salmon on his fly rod and even did most of the netting himself. The video will show you a few of his catches along with his technique that was the ticket to success.
Most anglers chose to use their guide's spinning gear and fish with lures or bait. But guests are welcome to bring their own flyfishing gear to tackle these hard-fighting fish. You can contact us for recommendations as to what size of fly rod, line, leaders, and flies to bring so that you are matched for this exciting fishing. There is nothing like feeling the power of that first run after setting the hook.
Come join us during our 2018 season for some exciting silver salmon fishing on one of our flyouts to the west side of Cook Inlet. The action begins around the end of July and continues all the way through August. On these flights you may see wildlife such as bears, moose, eagles, waterfowl and perhaps even a beluga whale in the Inlet during our crossing.
A flyout fishing trip should be on every visitor and Alaskan's bucket list of things to do. Its an incredible way to see more of Alaska from a new perspective in a float plane with literally a bird's eye view of the world. We have decades of experience taking guests on memorable trips they will enjoy sharing with their friends and relatives when they return home.
